RockBand Pendant
The RockBand pendant in 14K white gold, finished Dec 08. One of my favorite pieces to date, mostly cause every method I tried failed horribly till I gave up and cadded it.
Started out carving circles from a sheet of wax, when that didn't work I etched the shaped from a sheet of silver. Someone suggested sanding a quarter flat and carving that, that idea lasted a whole 20 minutes before I scrapped it.
Eventually I smoothed out the best resolution graphics of the instruments I could, measured angles and widths for the piece's eventual weight and center of gravity, messed around with a few different bail ideas before I threw everything together and handed it off to my CAD designer. Had the finished wax cast in 14KY, where I got to smooth sides and edges, take 90% of the metal off the bails, cut supporting sprues from around the guitar and bass, and rounded off the symbol.

It's probably a *good* thing they aren't for sale, since the guitar and bass are Fender logos.

I saw the pic on of this on Kotaku, I clicked the link ready to buy it for my Sister. I'm simultaneously really amazed you made this yourself, and disappointed I can't order one. Rock on!
